Programmes of consolidation

And also aim at strengthening the collaboration between Cuban and European universities who participated in these programmes.

Between 1995 and 2004, the European Commission supported, in collaboration with the Cuban Ministry of Higher Education, five Programmes of the European Diploma in Business Administration (DEADE).

Implemented from 1996 to 2005, these cycles have resulted in the training of a significant number of 450 managers and 120 professors. It also created an alumni group, whose members not only share knowledge, but also a general openness, a tendency to embark on or to support entrepreneurial activities and a general goodwill towards cooperation with European partners.

The activities included in the current project aim at consolidating the different DEADE networks (alumni, companies and academic institutions) and opening them up to the participants in the Euro-Cuban Programmes in Management Education run in the framework of the project.

This, through the organisation of three annual alumni meetings (Jornadas de Continuidad) held in Havana and with a duration of three to five days, during which participants are encouraged to exchange experiences and mutual professional support. They also provide a framework for updating the knowledge acquired in the DADE and DEADE programmes, through lectures and seminars on specific and innovative topics.

All alumni can, whether attending the annual meeting or not, access the website designed specifically for each of the meetings. It suffices to apply and fill in the application form.

The Jornadas also serve to encourage collaboration among the alumni of the programmes and the Cuban and European institutions and teachers participating in them.
